Maid Xiao Chun

Xiaochun is a maid in the Minister’s residence. As a child, she was taught to read and write by the young lady Menglan, whose temperament had drastically changed, and for the first time she learned that women did not have to be confined within yet another household. Years later, the real young lady returns and forces her to marry into the Third Prince’s residence as part of her entourage. Seeking to buy back her freedom, Xiaochun writes storybooks and investigates old records, only to become entangled in a struggle for the throne, an old case of clan extermination, and the vengeance of the swordswoman Yang Jiu. Amid the chaos, she saves lives, writes books, and solves mysteries, gradually planting in the hearts of more women the beliefs left behind by a volunteer teacher from another time and space.
