I Labeled My Cold-Chain Medicine, and My Neighbor Said I Cursed Her Child
我在冷藏柜贴了标签后,邻居说我诅咒她孩子
by Yuan Fen Bai Shao
Synopsis
On the day our residential complex shut off the water for maintenance, property management wheeled a Communal Fridge downstairs and said cold-chain medicine, breast milk bags, and fresh groceries could all be stored there temporarily. My mother had just undergone debridement for an infection, and the two injections delivered by the pharmacy had to be kept between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. I placed the medicine box in Compartment 3 and attached a note saying it was cold-chain medicine, that taking or moving it by mistake could cost someone their life, and that my contact number was below. Half an hour later, parenting blogger Qin Man cropped that note in half and posted it in the owners’ group chat. In the photo, only three words were left: cost someone’s life. She said her five-year-old son had been scared to tears, then asked if I just couldn’t stand seeing other people’s children safe and sound. Property management told me to apologize, and the neighbors told me to take my “unlucky medicine” away so it would stop affecting everyone picking up their group-buy orders. Upstairs, my mother was waiting for her second injection when a notification popped up on my phone: Qin Man had posted a new video.
